Welcome to  West Vail Community Garden!

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of Vail’s citizens and strengthn community bonds by creating and sustaining an organic garden that will foster environmental stewardship, education and a sense of community. The West Vail Community Garden operates in thanks to a partnership with the Town of Vail and Walking Mountains Science Center.

The West Vail Community Garden began with a group on interested citizens in the fall of 2010.  Our first phase of building began in May 2011 with our first 16 beds.  We currently have 27 beds.  The gardens are located on a parcel of Town of Vail land in the Intermountain neighborhood of West Vail.  A volunteer group of gardeners make up the planning committee and operate the garden.  While we know we face challenges being in a mountain environment, we are very excited to be outside growing together!

"Gardens, scholars say, are the first sign of commitment to a community. When people plant corn they are saying, lets stay here. And by their connection to the land, they are connected to one another." Ann Raver
